Police are requesting public assistance to identify a person whose image was captured by surveillance cameras while stealing surveillance cameras.

Two exterior cameras were stolen from a building on Pohaku Street in Hilo on May 14. Police are asking anyone with information on the thief’s identity to call the department’s non-emergency line at 935-3311 or Officer Kayla Kahuli at 961-2213.

Those who wish to remain anonymous may contact islandwide Crime Stoppers at 961-8300 and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,000. Crime Stoppers doesn’t use caller ID or record calls and all information is kept confidential.
